Who we are ?
The founders, Patricia and Jacques Biron, and Marion and Jacques Lotte, had been visiting Sri Lanka regularly since 1993, and set up the Association in 2005 following the tsunami that devastated the country they knew so well.
They raised funds through their networks of contacts and were able to help victims rebuild their lives. At the request of the Sri Lankan foundation, SAHANODA, they set up a sponsorship programme for children who had lost their parents.
Since then, needs and initiatives have evolved, as has the Association.
Today in France, we are a team of five people at the office, with around a hundred members, and a team of partners and coordinators in Sri Lanka.
Patricia and Jacques Biron continue to travel to Sri Lanka every year to monitor the projects and liaise with partners and coordinators. They meet the sponsored children and students, their families and teachers. They visit the schools and assess the needs for the following year. They are often accompanied by other board members, sponsors and supporters.
